Tekapo 1929 - The Stars Have Rooms to Shine

No word other than “Gorgeous” brings up into your mind when depicting Lake Tekapo, a small town surrounded by South Alps snow-capped mountains. The lake, Lupin flower, snow mountain, church, sunset, moonlight, stars even various birds and hares cannot just be simply described by inks and pens, you will only be able to understand its charm by spending a few nights here.

Lake Tekapo is famous for its dark night sky which is almost completely free from light pollution. In fact, the area is so excellent for star gazing that it was named the world’ largest International Dark Sky Reserve. It is also one of the best places in the world for star-gazing.

Located at the gorgeous lakefront, the old and elegant house- Tekapo 1929 has been situated there as time moved on. It was first built in 1928 and completed in 1929. During the last nine decades, the house has witnessed the town’s changes through ages.  It always remains its grace in the flood of time because a beautiful love story had brought the original house building into a start.

Tekapo 1929 offers a prime lakefront location to enjoy the panoramic view of shimmering turquoise Lake and majestic mountains. You can simply sit and watch the dreamlike sky in the morning, rosy sunset at dusk, dazzling starlight at night, or feeling the rotations of seasons, colourful Lupin in summer and snowy ridge in winter.

Apart from the million-dollars view, Tekapo 1929 also provides you with great convenience. Short walk distance to the Church of Good Shepherd and the heart of village where you can find different shops, restaurants and an array of outdoor activities.
